Suni Lee made more progress in her comeback on Sunday, delivering a fantastic beam performance during Day 2 of the U.S. gymnastics championships.
Lee’s return to gymnastics has not been easy. The 20-year-old is currently battling kidney-related health issues that impact how hard she can train. She is currently performing simpler skills in her routines as she eases her way back into competition.
The Olympic gold medalist struggled with her beam routine during the first day of competition on Thursday. She scored a 13.250 after falling off the beam once.
Lee improved on her beam performance during Day 2, sticking her dismount and scoring a 14.200.
USA gymnastics did not name Lee to senior team but she will continue on her comeback journey.
