Netflix has released the first official teaser trailer for “The Brothers Sun,” an Asian American crime series starring Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh.
The trailer dropped as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week, where the streaming company shares exclusive news and sneak peeks for their upcoming releases. The dark comedy series will follow the Sun family who are connected to a powerful Taiwanese gang in Taipei.
According to a Netflix article, the series picks up after a powerful Taiwanese crime boss named Big Sun (Johnny Kou) is shot by an assassin. His eldest son, a trained killer named Charles Sun (Justin Chien), returns to Los Angeles, California, to protect his mother Eileen Sun (Yeoh, and his younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li).
The cast will also feature Highdee Kuan, Joon Lee, Alice Hewkin, Jon Xue Zhang, Jenny Yang, Madison Hu, and Rodney To. The series was created by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu.
“The Brothers Sun” is coming to Netflix on January 4.
