Florida man pleads guilty to threatening Jewish group

A Sarasota, Florida man faces 5 years in prison after admitting he left a threatening message on the voicemail of a Jewish organization in New York.

The Department of Justice says Deep Alpesh Kumar Patel admitted to intentionally selecting Jewish and/or Israeli individuals for his threats.

“If I had a chance, I would kill every single one of you Israelis, Patel said in his message, according to WFLA Tampa. “Every single one of you! Cause mass genocide of every single Israeli.”

Prosecutors say Patel left that message at 1:31 pm on October 21. Eight minutes later he left a similar message at a synagogue in Temple Terrace, FL.

Patel admitted to leaving the profanity-laced voice mails, court documents indicate.

“Shut the f-ck up you fruit cake ass mother f-cker,” prosecutors quote him as saying. “GO BACK! And you know what, matter a fact, don’t even go back
to Israel man. Israel will belong to the Palestinian people, it’s not
even your country you mother f-cker. You f-ckin Jew… Aww, man I f-ckin wish Hitler was still alive, so he take care of you f-ckin Jews.”

The guilty plea is part of a plea bargain reached with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

A sentencing date has yet to be scheduled. Prosecutors say they will recommend the judge sentence Patel to 5 years in prison, but both parties acknowledge that the final decision is up to the judge.

Patel is not a United State citizens and could be deported after he serves his sentence.

Since the October attack by Hamas on Israel and the subsequent retaliatory strikes by Israel, hate crimes against both Jews and Palestinians have spiked significantly.
