Maryland Governor announces appointments for Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission

Maryland Governor Wes Moore recently announced several appointments for his Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission. The commission will advise the governor on issues that impact Maryland’s Asian American community.

According to a press release from the Governor’s office, Yang Yu (PhD) will serve as chair of the commission. Yu is currently the associate dean and associate professor at Howard Community College.

Gov. Moore has expressed his commitment to helping the AAPI community in Maryland. The current Lieutenant Governor, Aruna Miller, is Maryland’s first-ever Asian American state-wide elected official.
