A video of two Taiwanese grandmothers reacting to their Oscar nomination is going viral online.
The two grandmothers, called Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó, were the subjects of a documentary short titled “Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó.” The short was directed by Sean Wang.
According to NBC News, “Nǎi Nai” means “dad’s mom” and “Wài Pó” means “mom’s mom.” Wang’s two grandmothers live together and are best friends. The documentary short explores their relationship.
In a video posted to Instagram, Wang, his grandmothers and their loved ones cheer as the short is announced as a nominee.
