Michelle Yeoh, Bowen Yang feature in ‘Wicked’ first look

Michelle Yeoh and Bowen Yang appeared in a first-look clip of the upcoming Wicked live-action remake. The clip was aired during the Superbowl on Sunday.

Wicked tells the backstory of the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. The story will center on Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a misunderstood girl who is bullied for her green skin.

Yeoh will play Madame Morrible, the headmistress of Shiz University. Yang will play Pfannee, one of Glinda’s (Ariana Grande) friends at school. He can be seen gasping in shock alongside Glinda when Elphaba arrives at Shiz University.

In the clip, Yeoh’s Madame Morrible shares a moment with Elphaba.

“Once you learn to harness your emotions, the sky’s the limit,” Madame Morrible says.

The film will premiere in theaters on November 27, 2024.
