On Thursday, the FBI raided two houses owned by Winnie Greco, a top aide to New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
According to The New York Times, the raid was part of an investigation being conducted in collaboration with the U.S. attorney’s office.
The New York Post reports that Greco has worked with Adams since his time as Brooklyn borough president. She has helped him fundraise and served as a liaison to the Chinese community in New York.
Several months ago, the homes of other individuals associated with Adams were also raided. The raids were part of an investigation into whether or not Adams’ 2021 mayoral campaign conspired with the Turkish government to accept illegal foreign donations. The New York Times says that investigation appears to be unrelated to this most recent raid.
At this time, it is unclear if Greco is the subject of the investigation or if it is related to Adams. The FBI office in New York confirmed their activity to News 12 the Bronx, but declined to comment further on the investigation.
