A video being shared on social media shows a driver of a BMW pulling in front of another motorist on a freeway in the Bronx and then getting out and punching the man through his open window.
It’s unclear what prompted the incident but Ying Tan who recently ran for City Council in New York said the video had gone viral on Chinese social media and described the victim as a senior.
At one point, the motorist seen punching the other opens the door of the driver’s van and appears to continue to assault his victim who police say is a 66-year-old Asian man, according to the New York Post.
The senior tries to get out of the van, but the other man slams the door on him and then runs back to his BMW
The video ends with the senior attempting to get inside the BMW, but ends up being thrown to the ground as it is driven away.
Police say no arrests have been made and there have been no reports on the man’s condition.
