Zach Edey and the Purdue University men’s basketball have a chance to make history tomorrow.
On Saturday, Edey and Purdue cruised past the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the Final Four to secure a spot in the 2024 NCAA Tournament Championships. The game ended 63-50 in favor of the Boilermakers (Purdue).
Edey played all 40 minutes recording 20 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. The 21-year-old is in his senior year at Purdue. Many other players of his talent might have declared for the NBA draft earlier but Edey says Monday’s championship game is the reason he stayed.
‘”[It’s] what we’ve been talking about all year,” Edey said per ESPN. “The reason I came back is [to play in] games like this. The reason I’m playing college basketball for four years — to finally get this game, it’s big-time. We’ve obviously got to keep going and keep playing.”
Purdue will face the University of Connecticut in the final tomorrow.
