A brave woman walking down a New York street while checking her cell phone suddenly felt a punch on the back of her head.
Surveillance video obtained by the New York Post shows two men dressed in black running towards her. The first to arrive punched her from behind on the head. The force of the blow seemed to back her up against the wall of a building. That’s when a second assailant beat her with a baseball bat.
The New York Police Department told AsAmNews the woman is 58 and suffered bruising to her left leg and swelling on her head. She was treated at New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.
It happened Tuesday at 2:08 p.m. at 37 Monroe Street in New York.
The men seemed to be trying to grab the woman’s purse, but she managed to fend them off and the suspects ran away.
No arrests have been made in this case.
