Shogun won 14 Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday night, setting a new record for the most Creative Arts Emmys awarded to a single television series. According to The Washington Post, the show surpassed John Adams, a limited series that set the record in 2008 with 13 wins.
The Creative Arts Emmys take place every year, the weekend before the Primetime Emmy Awards. A total of 99 awards are given out over the course of two days, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
According to Forbes, Shogun won the following 14 Creative Arts Emmys:
- Best Sound Mixing
- Best Sound Editing
- Best Period Costumes
- Best Production Design
- Best Main Title Design
- Best Special Visual Effects
- Best Period/Fantasy Makeup
- Best Prosthetic Makeup
- Best Stunt Performance
- Best Casting for a Drama
- Best Period/Fantasy Hairstyling
- Best Guest Actor in a Drama (Néstor Carbonell)
- Best Picture Editing
- Best Cinematography
Shogun is also nominated for 11 more Emmys, Forbes reports. If it wins them all next weekend, it would beat Game of Thrones‘ total 22 Emmys won in 2019.
