Tyketto vocalist comes to defense of Journey’s Arnel Pineda

Rocker Danny Vaughan is defending Journey’s Arnel Pineda after an admittedly poor performance led to a fan backlash.

Vaughan known both as a soloist and the lead singer of Tyketto in the late 80’s and 90s responded to fans calling for Pineda to quit the legendary band after a performance in Rio.

“I have to say, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Vaughan asked. “Do any of these people do their job to 100% of their abilities every single day? Are any of them considered one of the best in the world at what they do? Because Arnel does and Arnel is,” GMA reporting him saying.

Vaughan speculated a delay in the audio being fed into Pineda’s earpiece may have caused Journey’s lead singer to be off pitch.

Arnel has acknowledged his performance of Don’t Stop Believin wasn’t his best. He even linked a video of it on Facebook.

“No one more than me in this world feels so devastated about this,” he wrote in his post. “It’s really amazing how 1 thousand right things you have done will be forgotten just cause of THIS..and of all the place, its in Rock In Rio…”

Pineda even suggested fans can vote him out of the band if they don’t like him. He suggested they could respond with a “stay” or “go” and if the “goes” reached a million, that’s what he would do.

So far the “stays” have it.

“Mentally and emotionally, I’ve suffered already, and I’m still sufferring..but i’ll be ok…God bless all of you and thank you once again to all of the fans and friends who believed in me since Day1🙏🙏🙏
