Democrats launch get out the vote Asian American campaign

Democrats this morning released a six figure multi-lingual campaign to get out the Asian American vote.

Bilingual ads will run nationwide in simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

Asian Americans could be the difference in many battleground states as the number of Asian American voters in those states is expected to exceed the margin of victory for either candidate.

Asian Americans have traditionally leaned Democrat, but Trump has aimed at chipping off votes.

“As Democrats are reaching AANHPI voters, we understand that these communities are not monolithic, and our ‘I Will Vote’ campaign is a direct reflection of that,” said DNC Acting Co-Executive Director Roger Lau. “The DNC is focused on multigenerational targeted AANHPI outreach, tailoring our messaging and resources to both non-English speaking first-generation AANHPI Americans as well as second and third-generation AANHPI Americans who prefer to speak English. The AANHPI community is a critical and important part of the Democratic coalition, and we are meeting them where they get their information to turn out the vote with a community that has the power to decide the outcome of this election.”
