President-elect Donald Trump has announced on social media that Massad Boulos will serve as his senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs.
Boulos is also the father-in-law of Trump’s daughter, Tiffany Trump.
“(Boulos) has been a longtime proponent of Republican and conservative values, an asset to my Campaign, and was instrumental in building tremendous new coalitions with the Arab American Community,” Trump said in the announcement on Truth Social. “Massad is a dealmaker, and an unwavering supporter of PEACE in the Middle East.”
According to The Independent, Boulos is a Lebanese American billionaire who met with several Arab American and Muslim civic and business leaders during Trump’s campaign run to raise support among that bloc of voters.
This is the second time Trump has recently appointed a family member to his administration. The president-elect also announced Charles Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s father-in-law, as the United States ambassador to France.
