Himesh Patel has signed onto the star-studded production of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, The Odyssey.
Based on the ancient Greek epic poem by Homer, it is described by Universal Pictures as a “mythic action epic shot across the world across the world using brand new Imax film technology.”, per The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.
Patel (The Franchise, Tenet) rounds out the cast of The Odyssey alongside Bill Irwin (Rustin, Spoiler Alert), Elliot Page (Ark: The Animated Series, The Umbrella Academy), and Samantha Morton (The Whale, Her), whose castings were announced on Jan. 31 by Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter.
The quartet join an ensemble cast consisting of Matt Damon (Oppenheimer, Air), Tom Holland (Uncharted, Spider Man: No Way Home), Anne Hathaway (The Idea of You, Interstellar), Zendaya (Challengers, Dune: Part 2), Robert Pattinson (Mickey 17, The Batman), Lupita Nyong’o (The Wild Robot, Us), John Leguizamo (The Menu, Encanto), Benny Safdie (Licorice Pizza, Uncut Gems), and Charlize Theron (Fast X, Bombshell), and Jon Bernthal (The Many Saints of Newark, The Punisher).
The Odyssey is slated to release on July 17, 2026. According to The Wrap, filming is expected to begin in February, with filming locations in the Aeolian Islands near Sicily, the United Kingdom, and Morocco.
