Graffiti vandals leave anti-Modi messages on Hindu temple

The largest Hindu temple in California has been spraypainted with Graffiti.

The Los Angeles Times reports the incident at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Chino Hills is being investigated by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

“F— Modi, Hindustan, and Moradabad,” one of the tags read.

Some connected the incident to the movement to free Khalistan.

“Not surprising this happens as the day for a so called “Khalistan referendum” which is calling for an independent Sikh state in LA draws close,” wrote the Coalition of Hindus of North American on X.

FOX11 reports damage is estimated at more than $15,000. BAPS has more than 5,000 centers worldwide including 100 in the United States.

“We condemn such despicable acts in the strongest terms,” said India’s Ministry of External Affairs on X. “We call upon the local law enforcement authorities to take stringent action against those responsible.”

This is the latest in a series of vandalism at Hindu temples. Recently a website was launched to document anti-Hindu and Anti-India incidents on campuses.
