Tom Kim is youngest golfer to win 3 PGA tour titles since Tiger Woods

Tom Kim is officially the youngest golfer to win three PGA Tour titles since Tiger Woods.

The 21-year-old South Korean golfer won his second consecutive Shriners Children’s Open on Sunday, securing his third PGA Tour title win, CBS Sports reports. Sunday’s victory was a narrow one, with Kim winning by just a stroke over Adam Hadwin.

Kim earned his first PGA Tour title at the Wyndham Championship in August 2022, CNN reports. His three wins have come in the span of just 15 months.

According to the PGA Tour, his win on Sunday also made him the second-youngest player to defend a title on the PGA Tour. John McDermott, who defended his U.S. Open title in 1912 at 20 years, 11 months and 21 days, is the youngest.

Shriners is a non-profit network of hospitals for children in North America. During a press conference, Kim said the children at Shriners inspired his win.

“I think because it’s sponsored by Shriners Children’s that’s even more special,” Kim said, according to CNN.
