The Lakers have announced that Jeremy Lin will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, reports ESPN.
Including last night’s game with the Dallas Mavericks, the Lakers had just three games remaining before the decision was announced.
There is much speculation that Lin has played his final game with the Lakers. After the season, he officially becomes a free agent meaning he is free to sign with any team. Neither the team or Lin will comment on his future, but coach Byron Scott has been open in his criticism of Lin.
“He’s obviously gotten better,” Scott said of Lin who the coach described as having an “up and down” season. “I think when he first got here, his mind of what a point guard is was totally different than mine. As we’ve gone along, he’s started to understand what I wanted from him on a day-to-day basis.”
