A Dairy Queen owner who posted anti-Hindu signs at his fast food outlet may be finalizing the sale of his store.
The signs have apparently been up for months at the Dairy Queen in Kemah, 30 miles southeast of Houston, but the franchise only recently came under intense attention when the media began reporting it.
According to the Universal Society of Hinduism, the Dairy Queen Corporation told it the store would be changing ownership as soon as the end of this month.
The store is currently owned by Mohammad Dar, 65, who is Muslim. It is unclear if Dar is selling the store willingly or is being forced to sell by Dairly Queen.
“They may look like humans, but they’re acting like monkeys,” Dar said about Muslims to KHOU.
A customer as far back as July of last year tweeted a picture of the sign.

The Dairy Queen Corporation says the sign does not represent its core values and is confident the change of ownership will resolve the issue.
“We will continue to work with all parties toward the closing of this transaction in the near future,” Dairy Queen said in an email to the Universal Society of Hinduism. “We expect that this issue will be resolved at that time.”
Rajan Zed of the Universal Society of Hinduism, has been critical of Dairy Queen for allowing the signs to be displayed and for not formally apologizing.
