The Hollywood Reporter reports that Michelle Yeoh is in talks with CBS All Access for a spin off of the digital program Star Trek: Discovery.
The producers turned to Yeoh as the first person cast for Discovery which premiered in 2017. A second season of that program is set for January.
According to Deadline, the new series would likely be a continuation of her character from season 2. CBS has declined to comment on the reports, but Executive producer Alex Kurtzman and David Stapf’s CBS TV Studios are planning a multi-project, multi-year Star Trek expansion.
“My goal is that there should be a Star Trek something on all the time on All Access,” Stapf told Deadline in August.
