A former Los Angeles Police Officer is suspected in the shooting death this morning of a Riverside Police officer and 2 others, reports KABC. One was shot in the head and is currently undergoing surgery.
The officers were investigating the weekend deaths of Monica Quan, an assistant basketball coach at Cal State Fullerton, and her fiance, when shots broke out in Corona and then Riverside
Police suspect the gunman is Christopher Jordan Dorner, a former LAPD officer, who wrote a manifesto in which he threatened to kill officers and admitted to the weekend killings of Quan and her boyfriend Keith Lawrence.
Dorner reportedly had a vendetta against Quan’s father who is a former captain in the Los Angeles Police Department.
A search for Dorner is on in Kern, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, and Imperial Counties.
Quan is a former high school basketball star.
