AAJA Calls on Talk Show Host to Apologize for “Little Riceball” Comment–@AAJA

AAJAThe Asian American Journalists Association is calling on Current TV to apologize after one of its hosts Stephanie Miller referred to commentator Michelle Malkin as “that little rice ball of nonsense.”

In a letter to Current TV, AAJA President Paul Cheung wrote, “It’s hard to believe that “rice ball” would have worked its way into the conversation if Ms. Malkin hadn’t been of Asian descent.  And whether the comment was meant to describe Ms. Malkin or her comment, it still isn’t worthy of Current TV.”

AAJA also demanded that Current TV develop guidelines to ensure “the discourse on your network remains free of similar comments in the future.”
