“Sold for $160 to the lovely man in the black tux,” said the auctioneer. The Asian American Students Association on the University of Miami campus auctioned off its members for charity, raising $2,000 for a social service agency serving sexually abused children.
“We are a social group that works together to raise cultural awareness,” Mathew Mancoa, AASA president said to the Miami Hurricane. “Our goal is also to teach others about the Asian culture. Fall semester is mostly bonding time for us, and spring semester is when we really disperse into campus.”
