Steven Chu will return to Stanford University as a faculty member teaching physics when he leaves his post as Energy Secretary at the end of this month, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.
Stanford officials haven’t disclosed when he will return to the University. Chu will hold joint appointments in the physics department and the department of molecular and cellular physiology in the medical school.
When Chu was appointed as the Energy Secretary, he was a professor of physics and molecular and cellular biology at the University of California, Berkeley and the director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
