An exhibition on tour from the Arab American National Museum near Detroit, Michigan is being presented at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo.
“This is a way of bringing cultures together, people together, under one society in which we all live. We share so much in common, both Arab and Japanese communities, it’s a good pairing,” Janis Tanji Wong, the museum’s director of marketing and communications, told the LA Times,
The show “Patriots and Peacemakers: Arab Americans in Service to Our Country” features Arab Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces, the Peace Corps and in diplomatic posts.
It will run through April 14th.
