Korean Americans reacted mostly with disbelief to threats by North Korea to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States and South Korea, reports the OC Register.
The threat came on the same day the United Nation’s Security Council backed by China voted to impose sanction against North Korea in reaction to their recent nuclear test.
“They talk tough so many times. Nobody takes it literally,” said J.J. Kim, president of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County.
“North Korea’s longtime history, and my observation has been, it’s like a bully on the block,” said Irvine Mayor Steven Choi. “He does not care and realize how vulnerable a position he is in, and he, being North Korea, is totally isolated even from their strong allies like China.”
More reaction plus concern for South Korea in the OC Register.
