An Indian American faces five years in prison after being convicted by a New York jury of holding an undocumented immigrant.
Annie George was accused of holding her maid as a slave, but the jury cleared George of the greater charge of keeping the maid for financial gain.
George is scheduled to be sentenced on July 9 and in addition to prison time, could lose her mansion in upstate New York and be fined $250,000.
Prosecutors said the maid, Valsamma Mathaim, worked up to 17 hours a day, seven days a week as a domestic, cook and babysitter for six years for $1,000 a month.
