The United States is accusing the Laos government of blocking its investigation into the fate of three missing Laos Americans, reports the Global Post.
The three from Minnesota haven’t been heard from since January and its feared the mean may have died in a car accident.
“Local Lao officials refused to provide any information or assistance in determining the welfare and whereabouts of the missing men, and physically prevented the embassy officials from entering an incident site which may be related to the case,” a US embassy spokesman said in an emailed statement.
This case is separate from the disappearance of a Lao activist Sombath Somphone. More on that in the Global Post.
