A former New York City Police Officer is under arrest, accusing of robbing $3,000 from a woman in Chinatown, reports NBC New York.
Authorities say a man took the cash after a woman dropped it and was trying to put the cash back into her purse. She was running after the man, when Russell Litwenak came out of nowhere and grabbed her near the throat. The man with the money got away. Police believe Litwenak was part of the robbery scheme.
Litwenak was convicted in 1994 in what became known as the “Dirty 30” scandal. He was fired from the force.
