Fashion designer Jason Wu has become part of American history thanks to Michelle Obama. The two inaugural gowns designed by Wu for Mrs Obama are on display in the Smithsonian.
“I didn’t know I would be a part of American history someday. It’s something that never occurred to me.” he told Rebecca Chao for her blog China Personified.
Wu sat down with the Asia Society to talk about his roots in Taiwan and how he started in the fashion industry.
“ I love the idea of creation and I’ve always been curious about how things were made, said Wu. “I remember learning English by flipping through Vogue Magazines that my mother had lying around and I just remember those models were so intriguing to me.
