First year Democratic congressman Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) is ripping fellow Democrat Ro Khanna for challening 5 term incumbent Rep Mike Honda for the seat in Silicon Valley, reports SF Gate.
“Obviously we’re talking millions of dollars and those dollars really could make a difference in unseating Republicans in seats that we hope to take away.” said Huffman. “I think that’s probably going to cost Mr. Khanna among Democrats who understand that context.”
Khanna has put a team of Democratic heavyweight together for his challenge, including many from the Obama campaign despite the President coming out with an early endorsement for Honda.
Huffman replaced Lynn Woolsey in Congress after she retired. He called Khanna’s challenge troubling. “Mike Honda is a great member of Congress,” he said.
No response from Khanna.
