A new study has concluded that South Asian men may need more exercise to stay healthy than white men, according to HealthFinder.gov.
The study conducted in Scotland suggests that physical activity guidelines may need to be changed to adjust for ethnicity.
It found that less physical fitness and higher amounts of body fat in middle-aged South Asian men in Scotland lead to higher blood sugar levels and a higher risk of diabetes.
The study found South Asian men have lower fitness levels at all level of fitness activity, meaning the differences could not be explained by whites simply exercising more.
