DesiQIt’s a special event in the gay South Asian community that only happens every four to six years.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgenders from the South Asian communities from around the world will gather in San Francisco July 4-6 for  DesiQ. People from as far away as Nepal, India and Sri Lanka will be in attendance, according to the Bay Area Reporter.

“The purpose of [DesiQ] is to show people that they have community and that we can build strong coalition to support one another and the causes that are important to us,” said Poonam Kapur, a volunteer on the marketing and steering committee of DesiQ.

Information about registration and the schedule of events can be found in the Bay Area Reporter.
