ABS CBN: @Leasalonga & #Charice in Duet from Broadway’s “Wicked.” @officialcharice (Video)

Tony Award winning performer Lea Salonga and Charice joined together on stage for a performance of the song “Defying Gravity” from the hit Broadway musical “Wicked.”
The appearance occurred on the show “ASAP 18” which runs on the ABS-CBN network in the Philippines.
It is the first ever collaboration between the two.
Salonga gained fame for her Tony-award winning role on stage as Kim in the Broadway musical Miss Saigon. In 2011, she was named a Disney legend for her musical performances in “Aladdin,” “Mulan” and “Mulan II.” More recently she starred in George Takei’s play “Allegiance” at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego. The show broke box office records and is now being developed for Broadway.
Charice catapulted to fame as a young girl when she appeared on “Oprah.” in 2007. She quickly signed with producer David Foster. Most recently she’s been in the news for coming out as a lesbian after a sudden change in her appearance from what would best be described as a sweet young girl to more of the butch look.
The rumors and speculation have just recently died down and now Charice is getting back to what she is best known for, singing.
