Representative Ami Bera (D-CA) has been named co-chair of a bi-partisan group of lawmakers with the aim of ending gridlock in Washington, reports the Times of India.
The group of 81 members of Congress is called “No Labels Problem Solvers.”
“We came together to stop partisan games and gridlock in Washington. We came together, not as Republicans and Democrats, but as Americans. We came together to put people ahead of politics and put our country first,” said Bera, the only Indian American currently in Congress.
A package of nine bills being pushed by the group includes one sponsored by Bera. You can read about that and the group’s mission in the Times of India.
