There’s a new way to gain American citizenship, join the army.
An article in the China Insider citing a report in the World Journal says Chinese women have discovered joining the army is a faster way to get a green card.
The article says about 1,000 gain citizenship that way each year and eight of those applying this year are Chinese women.
A women identified only as Meng had trouble finding a job after attending college in the US. She enlisted in the army and only told her parents after she signed up.
The program the women applied for was launched in 2009.
One person online in China wondered ““Is this going to cause a massive flow of our countrymen into the US army?”
