We reported just last week that celebrity chef and author Eddie Huang would host a new MTV reality show.
The news just keeps getting better for the rising star.
First We Feast reports that a pilot based on Huang’s memoir, Fresh off the Boat, is being produced for ABC.
It will be written and executive produced by Nahnatchka Khan. the creator of Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23.
Huang will serve as the producer. The show will be based around the life of a Chinese family that moves to Orlando.

RE: ABC greenlights pilot for Eddie Huang: I’m all for good funny Asian TV show but I REALLY hope they cast decent-good looking Asian people otherwise this show will turn to be a circus show and an embarrassment for Asians. Look at the major network comedy shows, not all of them are funny looking people. You wonder why many young Asians have no Asian entertainers they look up to or who they would like to be. If they cast good looking Asians plus funny script will equal happy, happy, happy for all
