The only Indian American currently serving in Congress says he’d like to see an Indian American as President of the United States.
According to Silicon India, Rep Ami Bera (D-CA) sees that as a real possibility in the future.
“Indian Americans are starting to get more engaged in politics. But certainly getting more (Indian-American) people to run is the first step. I think it is only a matter of time before someone starts to run for senate,” said Bera to DNA.
Bera’s hope is that he’ll see an Indian American president in his lifetime.
