Dan Rutherford, a Republican candidate for Governor in Illinois, announced on Facebook today that he has selected Steve Kim as his running mate.
Kim ran an unsuccessful campaign for Attorney General in 2010, has served as a chairman of the Korean American Coalition of the Midwest, and has been a Special Assistant to former Governor Jim Edgar.
If elected, Kim would be the first Asian American to hold statewide office in Illinois.
A formal announcement will be made September 5th.
