Campaign signs for Edison, New Jersey mayoral candidate Sudhanshu Prasad have been defaced with swastikas and the words “Never in Edison,” reports the Business Standard.
The act of vandalism took place throughout Edison in parks and other public areas.
“We strongly denounce these deplorable acts. This is a cowardly act of bigotry which have no place in the Township of Edison, nor are they representative of the beliefs and hearts of the good citizens of Edison,” Prasad said.
Prasad is running with a slate of diverse candidates in a town with an Indian American population described as burgeoning by NJ.com.
The site also reported that Prasad’s opponents have also deplored the racist graffiti.
