Two bus lines popular with students and budget conscious travelers may reopen after fixing safety violations which federal regulators cited before shutting the companies down, reports the Boston Globe.
The attorney for Fung Way says the company has hired a full time safety manager and sold ten of its older buses.
Lucky Star says its fired four drivers, leased five new buses and spent $1 million dollars on upgrades.
Both companies have completed the process of reopening as bus carriers and are awaiting the government’s response.
Fung Wah & Lucky Star are two of 35 bus carriers shut down since the beginning of the year.
