More Asian American immigrants live in Los Angeles than any other county in the nation, reports KCET.
The largest number of Burmese, Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian, Korean, Sri Lankan, Taiwanese, and Thai immigrants are all in Los Angeles County.
The report cites a study from the Asian American Advancing Justice, Los Angeles, titled A Community Of Contrasts: Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders in Los Angeles County.
The bulk of the rate of growth of Asian Americans in the county comes from South Asians with the population of Bangladeshi Americans increasing 122 percent in the last decade. There has also been significant growth in the Pakistani, Sri Lankan, and Indian American communities.
Chinese and Filipinos, like they are in the United States, are also the two biggest Asian American groups in Los Angeles County.
The report from the Asian American Advancing Justice also shatters many of the model minority myths about the Asian American community. You can read more about that on KCET.
