Inquirer: Filipinos First Landed in United States in 1587

Today there are 3 million Filipino Americans in the United States.

According to the Inquirer, the first Filipinos landed in Morro Bay in 1587, more than a decade before the British.

Every October since 1988 has been celebrated as  Filipino American History Month.

The vast majority of Filipinos are fluent in English and almost 48 percent of Filipino Americans have at least a bachelor degree.

A blog by Philip Chua  calls Filipinos a sleeping giant.
