Jeremy Lin must feel like the little engine that could.
Throughout his career in college and the pros he’s had to overcome doubters to prove that he belongs.
The latest hurdle for Lin is to prove that he belongs in the starting line up with James Harden and Dwight Howard.
With the addition of Superman Howard, the Rockets now have their eyes on the championship and many give them a legitimate shot at a contender.
His coach Kevin McHale has said he has two starting point guards in Lin and Patrick Beverley. McHale has been alternating the two in and out of the starting line up this pre-season. Lin says it doesn’t matter to him if he starts or comes off the bench and that he will do what the team needs.
You wouldn’t expect Lin to say anything less, given the class guy he is.
Matt Fitzgerald in the Bleacher Report says Lin is poised for a break out season with Howard manning the paint and opening up passing lanes and pick and roll opportunities for a free wheeling Lin, something he excelled in with the New York Knicks.
Sai Krishnan of Sportskeeda says Lin would be better coming off the bench and that it could revive his career.
This is all set up for magical season. When you least expect it, Lin will prove his skeptics wrong.
What do you think?
