Congressional candidate Ro Khanna (D) who is attempting to unseat popular incumbent Mike Honda (D-Silicon Valley) with a well financed campaign, has proposed a five step plan for reforming Congress, reports Silicon India.
The steps include:
- Refusing to accept money from Political Action Committees
- Refusing congressional pay raises
- Ending the Congressional pension system
- Ban legislators from lobbying for five years after leaving Congress
- Ban members of Congress from taking special interest-funded trip
Khanna, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, has received the bulk of his campaign funding from high tech executives. If elected, he pledged to abide by all the reforms he is proposing.
Honda has received endorsement from heavy weight democrats including President Barack Obama and Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi.
