Betty Kwan Chinn of Humboldt County in Northern California feeds a thousand homeless people daily, reports CCTV.
Every morning she also walks into the woods where she finds homeless teens taking shelter and drives them to school every morning.
The community just named a new day center in her honor. There homeless are fed, kids take part in a youth program and the poor are given counseling to navigate the bureaucracy of social welfare assistance.
She’s also been recognized with a Presidential Citizen’s medal and recognition from former California first lady Maria Shriver.
You can see the impact Betty has had on the people she serves in the video report below from CCTV.
