Demonstrators this morning braved the snow and the frigid cold in Elizabeth, New Jersey to block the Elizabeth Detention Center in protest of what they say are the arbitrary deportation quotas of the Obama administration.
The temperature at 9 a.m. Eastern in Elizabeth was 33 degrees.
Police used electric chain cutters to arrest the nine protestors who had locked themselves together.
The militant action by the group of New Jersey residents coincides with the last week of Congress which appears ready to adjourn without passing immigration reform.
