Billboard has named Bruno Mars its artist of the year.
The Filipino American artist beat out other major names including Taylor Swift, P!nk, Rihanna & Katy Perry. Mars is the first male performer to win the honor since 2008.
His Unorthodox Jukebox album debut at number 2 and finally hit number 1 in its 12th week. The album also spawned three top 10 singles, Locked Out of Heaven, When I Was Your Man, and Treasure.
