Interesting piece in the New York Times today by guest blogger Deb Weidenhammer.
According to her, there are 85 million Christians in China. Some Chinese, whether Christian or not, exchange small token gifts comparable to what we find in Christmas stockings.
There are no official religious holidays in China, so many there don’t understand why Christmas is such a big deal here.
Weidenhammer says the non-denominational church she attends is always packed.
Christmas is a much simpler and quieter time in China. Something she finds refreshing.
