The FBI has arrested a Daly City man in connection with the San Francisco Chinese Consulate fire set on New Year’s Eve, reports NBC Bay Area.
Yan Feng has been arrested in connection to the fire. He self-surrendered to Daly City police by calling them on Friday, according to the FBI.
FBI spokesman Peter Lee said authorities do not believe there are any ties to terrorism, and called the fire, “an isolated incident.”
A statement on the consulate’s website describes a van pulling up to the building’s entrance at about 9:25 p.m. and a person jumping out and pouring two buckets of gasoline onto the front door before setting it on fire.
No one was hurt in the blaze but damage was done to the doorway and lobby of the building.
